Review

The Mojo Fins vocalist and guitarist Jon Chandler was tragically killed in a road accident in May 2007 only days before the release of their first single "Pinata face", the band decided to continue and several months later and galvanised by the addition of a new member, friend and guitarist Adam Atkins. The Brighton based quartet set about recording their debut album "The sound that I still hear" (2009), two years later their 2nd album "Shake the darkness" is completed and produced by Dave Eringa who helped the band with orchestral arrangements. This is Britrock with the big letter B, for fans of Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild and Aqualung. They chose "The spell" as the first single and it´s a good choice but I think "Heligan" is far better, that one is epic. A solid album that falls a bit at the end.
