Different Music Styles

There’s always music bashing and this and that. You all have heard, "You suck for liking this band" or "I´m better than you because I like this certain style of music." to me its all crap. I´m a firm believer in whatever music style you prefer whether its Rock, Hip-Hop, Country, blues, Jazz or whatever, at least you like music.

Without music there would be a lot more depressing shit in this world and we all should be thankful for those who not only make music but appreciate its being. Let´s all just have fun rock some tunes and enjoy different music together. Hey, you never know you may find you do like country or whatever after all and it may even bring people closer together. Rock, Hop or Sway, or Dance on guys!

Hey guys just wanted to let you know what new bands I am into right now and that are ruling my CD player..... If you haven´t checked these bands out yet you should!

First off The 2 bands that have been ruling my CD Player:

The Gaslight Anthem "The 59 Sound"

Killer classic rock mixed with some Springsteen highlights and some punk based. I hear minor sounds of Rise Against mixed in as well. Fantastic Album. Album is out now!

Glasvegas "Glasvegas"

Next is Glasvegas.... Wow! Doo Wop meets indie spacious double picked guitar rock. Fantastic album worth checking out. Album is out now!

Most Anticipated Albums:

Fightstar "Be Human"

Fightstar has been around for a few years and this will be the third proper full length release. Heavy modern rock mixed with deep passionate lyrics and orchestrations. Think Deftones mixed with Funeral For Friend but better than both bands.. haha. Released on Monday, April 20. Check out my review of the album below.

Dredg "The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion"

Great experimental rock with a modern touch of catchy vocals. If you haven´t cheeked these guys out, then listen to any of their previous albums to get a taste of what these guys have to offer. Released May 19th! Check out my review of the album below.

Chickenfoot "Chickenfoot"

Sammy Hagar teams up with Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony (Van Halen), and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) to create a new classic rock sounding band. Their first single "OH Yeah" displays similar "Van Hagar" sounds on this one and it going to be a delight to the music scene.

Caspian
Caspian is a phenomenal instrumental band that everyone should know about. If you are into the instrumental likes of Sigur Ros, Explosions In The Sky, The Cast and The Break, Mogwai or The Calm Blue Sea, i would really recommend this group. As they will capture you from the very first listen. I will give props to my girlfriend for finding their MySpace page one night. She called me over to the computer to hear their music. That night, i couldn't wait to email their management to get the CD for a review. the band has just recently released a new album entitled "Tertia" and I had the pleasure to interview Phil from the band and if your unfamiliar with them, you should definitely check them out. www.myspace.com/caspianmusic...read more

Carolines Spine
One night in 1997, I put on the radio station 89.1 The Point in Rochester, NY and heard a song called “Sullivan”. I was blown away and immediately jumped online to find out it was a band called Caroline’s Spine. I have been following the band and singer Jimmy Newquists solo albums since then. Caroline Spine has released 5 full length albums to date, “Monsoon,” “Attention Please,” “Overlooked,” “Captured” and recently underwent a lineup change and released their new album of 8 songs entitled “Work It Out.” It was an honor to Interview one of my heroes and inspirations Jimmy Newquist and talk about the new chapter in Caroline’s Spine. I just want to Thank Jimmy for taking the time to interview with me and Sandy Rizzo for making this possible. ...read more

Goo Goo Dolls
The Goo Goo dolls have been one of my favorite bands since I first heard the album Superstar Carwash. The band has grown immensely and has become one of the world’s most successful bands today. They have been featured on numerous smash hit blockbuster film soundtracks and continue with huge hits like “Long Way Down”, “Name” , “Iris” , “Slide” , and the most recent “Stay With You.” I had the chance to interview with Robby on the phone to promote their most recent release “Greatest Hits Volume 2: B-Sides and Rarities.” ...read more
