Swedish hard rock heroes CellOut have it all: killer riffs, addictive melodies and unforgettable hooks. All are proudly on display with this year’s staggering Nuerra Records debut, Superstar Prototype. Flaunting lyrics as cutting as their serrated dual-guitar attack, the band has earned rabid fans on both sides of the Atlantic. Now, on the strength of a transcendent performance at the massive annual Sweden Rock Festival— and upstart Nuerra’s union with marketing powerhouse Believe Digital—CellOut are truly poised for a global takeover. Over the last 19 years, the Sweden Rock Festival has become one of Europe’s mandatory summertime headbangers’ balls. This year’s edition, held in early June and attended by over 35,000, offered intimidating headliners in the form of Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith. Yet, as the sun set on Saturday evening, CellOut were primed to rise to the occasion and make their 30-minute set count. “We went up on the stage with open minds, but with the confidence of four lions,” says frontman Percy Mejhagen. “We adjusted our set so it would hit them like a fist in their faces, but with a thoughtfulness to it. After the intro, we went straight into ‘The Tragedy in You,’ and immediately we knew we had them! We won a lot of new fans, but also noticed that a lot of them already knew about us and really dug our music.” Believe Digital is a digital distributor and service provider that has become a promotional giant on a pan-European basis, along with being the leading distributor on the continent, with over 70 A&R reps worldwide. They’ve recently expanded into the United States and will be working with digital music stores to broaden CellOut’s growing audience at home and abroad. “The music definitely does the talking on this one,” says Believe artist and label manager Rick Reed. “I love the band, so I’m totally excited to see where they can go.” It all begins with the first single, album opener “Dark Days,” whose chugging verses and anthemic chorus encapsulate CellOut’s blend of crushing brutality and progressive dynamics. Then again, one shouldn’t expect anything less, considering the involvement of Grammy-nominated mixer Ulrich Wild, who enthuses, “Led by a great vocalist, CellOut masterfully combine metal and melody into powerful, well-crafted songs.” With the muscle of Nuerra and Believe Digital behind this hard rock juggernaut, it’s only a matter of time before CellOut’s infection goes worldwide. Lodi, CA's A Skylit Drive is set to head into the studio this September, to record their as-yet-untitled third album. The follow-up to their hit album Adelphia, the band will be recording the full-length in Santa Ana, CA with Cameron Webb (30 Seconds To Mars, Motorhead, Flyleaf, Silverstein). The album is set for release in early 2011. "So far, the main difference between working on the new album and Adelphia is that we've had so much more time and so much more fun writing this record," notes guitarist Nick Miller. "The new jams are so much more rockin' and we can't wait for the new energy that we are going to bring to the new songs." "Working with Cameron Webb has us even more pumped," he continues. "We recorded our cover song for Punk Goes Classic Rock (a version of Journey's "Separate Ways") with him and dug the vibe we got in his studio. We loved working with Cameron and are really happy to be recording the new album with him. Can't wait to get the new songs to you all! We love you!"

Forthcoming Quiet Riot Documentary To Go Behind The Scenes

Without a doubt, THE heavy metal success story of the early '80s was none other than Quiet Riot. After years of struggling in LA clubs (despite legendary guitarist Randy Rhoads being in their ranks throughout the '70s), the classic QR line-up of Kevin DuBrow (vocals), Frankie Banali (drums), Rudy Sarzo (bass), and Carlos Cavazo (guitar) hit mega-success with their first-ever US release in 1983, the classic 'Metal Health.' Spawning two hit singles that have gone on to become synonymous with heavy metal - "Cum On Feel the Noize" and "Metal Health" - the 'Metal Health' album went on to become the first-ever metal US debut to hit the #1 spot on the Billboard album charts, and resulted in a solid year of sold-out shows and non-stop MTV video airplay. Despite this being an absolute standout era of the band's career, very little substantial video documentation has surfaced. That is...until now. Banali is in the midst of constructing a full-length/behind-the-scenes/warts-and-all documentary about the group (the first-ever solely about QR), which will focus on this aforementioned era, but also, recount QR's entire story - from the first time DuBrow and Banali crossed paths in January 1980, through DuBrow's untimely passing in November of 2007. The video footage - directly from Banali's archives - will include the aforementioned performance in 1980 through some of the last shows QR played, including footage of their Rocklahoma performance in 2007. Additional video footage captures QR in many phases, including a 1982 performance of "DuBrow" (a short-lived name Quiet Riot went by in the early '80s), with DuBrow, Banali, bassist Chuck Wright (Sarzo was playing in Ozzy Osbourne's band at the time), and Cavazo's first video performance with the band, his second total. Also included will be live performances, backstage footage, sound checks, studio sessions, and interviews - most of which has never been seen. Banali has already invested money into the project, and to make the documentary reach its full potential, he is having an online fundraiser that ends September 2nd. Fans are being called upon to help back the project, and lend a hand in its completion. Also via the aforementioned link is a list of the different increments you can pledge - all of which give rewards of QR-related merchandise, and as the pledge amount increases, so do the rewards (including such simply awesome items as an autographed QR photo that includes the late DuBrow's signature, a personal drum lesson with Banali in LA, dinner with Banali at the Rainbow in LA, your own personalized 'Metal Health' platinum CD award, your name in the film's credits, amongst many other cool opportunities). As Banali says, "The moment my friend Kevin DuBrow died, my life and career went from sixty to zero with his final breath." But now, DuBrow and Quiet Riot will receive a much-deserved video retrospective, that will leave no stone unturned. Get ready to bang your head and feel the noize once more! The first stages of putting the documentary together are now underway, and a "teaser" clip of what to expect has been posted via this link http://kck.st/9TXAiA

Less than a year after releasing his critically acclaimed seventh album Draw the Line, David Gray has announced the release of a new studio album, Foundling, out on August 17, 2010 on Mercer Street Records/ Downtown Music. This 2-disc set will feature the full length album and a 9-song bonus disc featuring never before released material including the first single "A Moment Changes Everything." With sunburn still fading and laundry still unwashed from their stints on the 2010 Vans Warped Tour, the UK's ENTER SHIKARI and Indiana's HASTE THE DAY team up in October for another round trip of the United States and Canada. The tour, which takes in a full loop of the continent over the course of six weeks, marks the end of a full 18 months of touring for Enter Shikari following the release of their second album 'Common Dreads'. The previous year+ has seen the band completing North American tours with August Burns Red and Alesana in 2009 and touring the US with A Day To Remember (and, in return, having A Day To Remember support them on a Japanese tour) in March 2010. Most importantly, for those who have seen Enter Shikari on these recent North American jaunts, this tour will also mark the return to the drum stool of Mr Rob Rolfe, who has been unable to play US shows with the band for over two years due to visa issues (now, finally, thankfully, resolved). These shows will be Enter Shikari's last US appearances before returning to the UK and starting work on their third album. Haste The Day, on the other hand, are just beginning their latest album adventure. Their fifth album 'Attack Of The Wolf King' was released on Solid State Records on 29th July, the first full length release since 2008's 'The Dreamer' and first to feature the band's current line-up. Making up the rest of the package are SLEEPING WITH SIRENS (Orlando, FL), Ms. WHITE (Italy), and LIGHTSGOBLUE (UK). Tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday 6th August. The dates are as follows - Sat Oct-2 Houston, TX - Shadowplay Lounge Sun Oct-3 Metarie, LA - High Ground Tue Oct-5 Orlando, FL - Social Wed Oct-6 Ft. Lauderdale, FL - Culture Room Fri Oct-8 Tampa, FL - Orpheum Sat Oct-9 Atlanta, GA - Seven Venue Mon Oct-11 Richmond, VA - Canal Club Tue Oct-12 Baltimore, MD - Ottobar Wed Oct-13 Philadelphia, PA - Church Fri Oct-15 NYC, NY - Gramercy Sat Oct-16 Providence, RI - Club Hell Sun Oct-17 Montreal, QC - Underground Mon Oct-18 Toronto, ON - Wreckroom Wed Oct-20 Detroit, MI - Eagles Ballroom Thu Oct-21 Cleveland, OH - Grog Shop Fri Oct-22 Chicago, IL - Bottom Lounge Sat Oct-23 Minneapolis, MN - Station 4 Sun Oct-24 Winnipeg, MB - WECC Tue Oct-26 Edmonton, AB - Avenue Thu Oct-28 Portland, OR - Hawthorne Fri Oct-29 Seattle, WA - El Corazon Mon Nov-1 San Francisco, CA - Slims Tue Nov-2 Sacramento, CA - Boardwalk Thu Nov-4 Los Angeles, CA - Troubador Fri Nov-5 Anaheim, CA - Chain Reaction Sat Nov-6 San Diego, CA - Soma Sun Nov-7 Phoenix, AZ - Nile Theater Tues Nov-9 Austin, TX - Emos Wed Nov-10 San Antonio, TX - White Rabbit
