Avenged Sevenfold has cemented their status as one of the country's favorite rock bands with their highly personal fifth studio album Nightmare, which bowed at No. 1 on Billboard's album chart and also No.1 on Billboard's Hard Music, Digital, Internet and Alternative Album Charts. Its No. 1 debut is the band's highest first-week chart position ever, selling over 162,500 units in its first week thanks to the band's devoted and rabid fanbase, who consider themselves part of a worldwide A7X family. The fans came out in droves to buy the album and spent the past week exhorting one another to make the band's record No. 1 through Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and fansites. The band's previous album, 2007's Avenged Sevenfold, moved 94,000 in its first week of release. Produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Eminem) and mixed by noted engineer Andy Wallace, Nightmare was in the works when the band's beloved drummer, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, passed away. The Los Angeles Times has praised Nightmare's "elegiac power ballads," and called it "the band's most personal effort yet." On August 17th, Avenged Sevenfold will set out to co-headline the first annual Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival with Disturbed. Also on the bill are Stone Sour, Halestorm, and Hell Yeah. Mike Portnoy from Dream Theatre plays drums on Nightmare and will also tour with the band for UPROAR. The current tour dates are as follows. The tour kicks off September 16th in Wichita, KS at The Cotillon and also includes Drive A on the bill. See below for a complete list of tour dates. Black Tide broke onto the music scene in a big way in 2008 with their fist-pumping, fret-burning, fast-paced metallic anthems on their Interscope Records debut Light From Above. The new album was recorded at Spin Studios in New York with producers GGGarth (Rage Against The Machine, Rise Against) and Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God). Lead vocalist/guitarist Gabriel Garcia, bassist Zakk Sandler, drummer Steven Spence and guitarist Austin Diaz immediately took to the road and to date has rocked over 300 shows in over 16 countries with over 1 million fans! Their debut, Light From Above, was released in March 2008 and garnered instant acclaim stateside with Rolling Stone naming the band one of the Best Rookies of 2008 and Metals New Teen Titans. Spin Magazine went on to tap them as one of the Next Big Things and overseas Kerrang named them the Best New Band of 2008! Styx To Launch "The Grand Illusion/pieces Of Eight" Tour

STYX SET TO LAUNCH “THE GRAND ILLUSION/PIECES OF EIGHT” TOUR THIS FALL, PERFORMING BOTH ALBUMS IN THEIR ENTIRETY; SEVEN-SONG EP OF RE-RECORDED CLASSICS AND ONE BRAND NEW TRACK FOR SALE AT EVERY SHOW August 4, 2010 -- It’s the tour STYX fans have been waiting for. STYX--Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James “JY” Young (vocals, guitars), Lawrence Gowan (vocals, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums) and Ricky Phillips (bass), along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo—are getting ready to head out on the U.S. concert trail again this year. However, for this round of dates, the band has an extra-special treat planned - it won’t be a typical STYX show. Along with the classic hits, the band will be performing 1977's THE GRAND ILLUSION and 1978's PIECES OF EIGHT in their entirety. Both albums spawned such hit singles and Classic Rock radio standards as "Come Sail Away," "Renegade," "Blue Collar Man" and "Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man).” And as icing on the cake, a seven-song EP, entitled REGENERATION, VOLUME 1, containing six newly re-recorded classics--"Come Sail Away,” "Crystal Ball," "Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man),” “Lorelei,” “The Grand Illusion” and “Sing For The Day”—and a brand new track, “Difference In The World,” will be available for sale at every stop along “The Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight” October/November tour route. “This is the most unique STYX concert ever,” says singer/guitarist Tommy Shaw. “It's a hybrid experience of enjoying the artistry of the vinyl album and the energy and of our live performance. Some songs have never been performed live!” Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early ‘70s, STYX would eventually transform into the virtual arena rock prototype by the late '70s and early '80s, due to a fondness for big rockers and soaring power ballads. Over the course of their 38-year career they’ve released 15 studio albums, 6 best-of compilations and 4 live albums, garnering 8 Top Ten singles. STYX has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. On the touring front, STYX has performed more shows since ’99 than all of the previous years of its career combined. Two Super-Bowl appearances, Pollstar box office chart-topping tours with Def Leppard, Journey, Boston, REO Speedwagon, Bad Company, Foreigner (to name a few), two more studio albums and no end in sight, STYX continues to conquer the planet, one venue at a time. South Florida hard rock quartet, NONPOINT have announced new tour dates following their shows on the main stage of OZZFEST this summer. Nonpoint has been on the road nearly nonstop since the beginning of the year, sharing the stage with Cold, Sevendust, Drowning Pool, HELL YEAH and playing memorable sets at Rock on the Range and UK’s Download Festival. To coincide with the tour, Nonpoint will release their second single, Frontlines from latest album, Miracle. The band’s first single, Miracle, was their highest charting single ever. Lead singer Elias Soriano says, “Frontlines is for our country’s armed forces. They risk their lives everyday to protect the rights, liberties and lives of people whose names they don’t even know.” Frontlines will impact rock radio on August 10th. Soriano also put together a viral video for Frontlines that will go live on all Nonpoint’s official web pages on August 3rd. “After hours of looking at photos online of soldiers, solely for the sake of a picture to be used in the artwork for Frontlines, I was so moved and inspired by their commitment,” Elias says. “The emotional and physical risk our soldiers take for strangers everyday – I had to create this as a reminder. We are blessed that we are protected by such strong hearts.” As a thank you to the men and women of our armed forces, Nonpoint will be donating a portion of the proceeds of Frontlines to various military charities. View the new viral video here: http://nonpoint.com/site/index.php The band will be on the road through October, with special guest Egypt Central joining them on September 4th onward.
