Steve's album is coming out in 2010 I think around Feb. It was in a vegas paper, and also on a board where they have the dates of new albums being releases. To whoever said Perry last album with Journey was missing something! Go back and listen to trial by fire and you will find this a very emotional,beautiful,album. everything on this album is written from the soul of perry and written about love and loss within his 8 year absents from journey. When you love a woman is breathtaking. Perry,Caine,and Neal did a fantastic job on the album. By the way Caine! when you lie and say that Perry did not want to tour Europe in the middle 80's and say you dont know why! I'll tell you what you already knew. That was the time Perrys mother was very,very,sick and he did not want to leave her for fear of her dying. When you go on your new journey interviews start telling the truth and try to be a honest man like the voice himself!!! IDIOTS!!!

How does one "fake hip surgery"?
Steve' "friends" bailed on him when he was at a very low point physically and began looking for another singer BEFORE even talking with him about it. I hope they do well with Arnel he seems like a nice guy but Journey will never be what it was with Steve Perry. I only hope he DOES come back as a solo act as I feel that is what he should have been all along!

After the Oprah show, Steve showed his class by wishing the band well. I do hope he releases another album that is, if that's what he wants to do. If he's enjoying his retirement, so be it, but I would love to hear that beautiful voice once again.

The way I see this, 1. Steve Perry has the best voice of all times. 2. if you dont like him, go find something else to do then sit here and put him down. try a long walk off a short cliff. 3. If Steve puts out a new album there are millions of devoted fans that will be extremely happy, encluding myself.

Aren't you a little tired of being dissapointed year after year? Finally comes back in 1996 and fakes a hip surgery to get out of touring? Can't get along with anyone, never married and dissapears for 15 years. I would be thrilled if he put out a new album, but do you really think that is going to happen. He's going to jerk us around for another 10 years and then it will be too late. Sorry if the truth bothers you guys. Nothing would make me more happy than to eat my words but I really doubt I will.

Steve still has his faithful following in his corner. We have been waiting for a long time for this. There are many bands from that era that have come back and started making music again. Why not Steve Perry?? Of COURSE he still has it in him, his true fans still believe in him. That's a bunch of bull**** that his voice is trashed! Counting the days until the new album is released and once again I hear the heaven that is Steve Perry's voice. Steve is truly blessed with "THE VOICE" of an angel. Circus life under THE BIG TOP WORLD we all need "the clowns" to make us smile. I lost my sister/my friend to cancer, she suffered a very slow and painful death and there wasn't anything I could do to make her better, we buried her on her 31st birthday. Two months later I lost my Aunt who was more like a sister, we were almost the same age, her untimely death was due to drug and alcohol abuse. The three of us were very close and had many misadventures. Steve you were right there in the middle in song. We of course all had a serious crush on you, I still do. We sang all of your songs together our favorite to sing as a trio was "Lights." We sang it accapella in the stairwell of my garage apartment because the acoustics were perfect. Thank you for being a part of some very precious memories. I'm just now at the point where I can here your voice without breaking down. For a long while I avoided you, but now especially since I'm clean and sober I can truly appreciate your work as if each song is a masterpiece painting in my personal gallery in my heart. I'm forever your's, faithfully.

I too have been a Steve Perry fan for 30 yrs. I doubt that there is a new recording coming though. If he intended to record he would have done so long before now. Seems someone claims to know for a fact that Steve is working on a new album year after year after year. I will continue to listen to the old stuff and believe a new on when I see it.

Leah, Forget the white sox video, I am a true fan of football and all I do at games is scream and I am lucky I can talk after a game. I am so sure that perry was goofing more then putting his heart and soul into it. Drinking some beers,screaming and just getting over being sick will make even the best singer sound hoarse. In a March interview of this year Steve Perry said he is happy with the new songs he has written and people are telling him hes ready to go and hes sounding great. He said himself while he sings he feels sad at times because he sounds like the perry with journey and it pains him with memories. Randy Jackson seen Perry about 3 months ago and said his voice is still golden. So friend put your worries to rest our steve is back!!!

Just saw a video of him singing with the White Sox after the World Series win (Don't Stop Believin'). While that was a couple years ago, someone reassure me that it was just because he had gone hoarse from either cheering or an upper respiratory infection-because in that video (shot by someone who wanted to mock him-which made me furious), he was hoarse, off key, and truly sounded like only a shadow of himself. Anyone have any information on whether he has been heard, or recorded, singing since that World Series event?
The thought of 'the Voice' being gone is heartbreaking! Please let it have been a fluke...

Steve Perry singing again would be awesome!! He has been with me since 1979. I have loved his voice and listen to him everyday!! His voice and songs help me through so much. People if Russ says it is so, it is so. He would be in alot of trouble saying this if it weren't true. SP would have his lawyers all over this if it weren't true. And you know that. November or December of 2009, and if not, it will be beginning of 2010. Just please be patient a little while longer. Steve loves his fans and he would never let them down. And the Best Of SP, the pix on that GREEN CD were absolutely beautiful. You have to have faith, believe! It could have been nothing you know, he could have just forgot about everyone. That is not the case, and yes he still is our Shakespeare of Rock and 'THE VOICE'. As far as his voice being shot, it just got deeper. Sexy deep! Remember the last time someone said that Stevie had lost his voice, he sure fooled those people. LOL! I spoke to you on Rockline in 1994 on the evening upon Strange Medicines release and you said you were going to Time Square to buy the first copy of your own album. I recorded that show and told you my band was working on some Journey covers. I have to say man that summer I fell into some deep trouble with drugs, alcohol and the law but seriously your album pulled me through as your music has all these years. I'm now a fairly successful musician and song writer and always give you props for helping me to my dreams.
Release the album Steve! In this age of American Idol and poseur Steve Perry's running Journey it needs to be done! Your album will go platinum, we need you and love you.

Yes, I sadly agree that his voice is shot, otherwise he'd be recording more often and doing solo shows. He's smart not to go out there and embarrass himself live. But hey, "Don't Stop Believin'" found a resurgence, so the royalties he's getting are astronomical. Why work? At 60, I don't see a new album at this point. He's been out of Journey for 11 years now. Nothing in the interim aside from some studio backup work and one song ("I stand alone"). C'mon. But his legacy from '78-86 is undeniable! They still rock with Arnel, but it was silly to re-record the classics....just stick with the new stuff, Neal!

New album my ***. I've been hearing this rumor for over a year now and still there is no album. I'll believe Perry's back when I'm holding the new cd(album) in my hands. But for now, it's all just rumor to me. I still believe that his voice is shot. I'm a long time Journey fan from way back. Loved Steve's voice when he was with Journey. But guess what?
