Looks like 5 year Perry Fan is jealous! It's O.K. number 5, I believe they were just having a bit of fun here! At least they do mention Steve Perry's name many times in their silly conversations...I never knew it was a crime for two people to speak kindly to one another?

Jeez the loons get really upset when anyone says anything negative about Perry. You people need a reality check. Last time I checked Steve did not rise on the third day, so chill. People are entitled not to like him, or to think he is an ass. If people have the sense to be objective they can see he has done some bad things too. And many people have said over the years that Perry is not a nice person and that it is suprising his ego can fit through the doorway. Plus Jon and Neal were not the ones who kept walking out on the band. All they did was fire someone (Perry) who didn't want to come to work. In the real world it happens all the time. Probably some of those who are defending Perry have fired unreliable folks from jobs. And I am not even touching on the fact that the whole TBF fiasco was claimed by some to be manipulation and lies on Steve's part. As far as music goes Steve has been talking about "doing something' for years and it hasn't happened yet. So people can be skeptical. Sorry ladies it ain't happening,it was over for Perry a long time ago. Of course his fans don't give up the fantasy, but they are called loons for a reason.

If not, we may all wind up sucking fermented fruit trees to escape the madness we have come to know as reality. Alright loons where is Steve's new album ? It is getting close to the end of 2010 no album yet. Got fooled again didn't you ? . Perry's voice is shot, it has been shot, he knows it. He couldn't sell out small halls or have big CD sales in 1995 he sure as heck won't have them now. Plus anyone with half a brain can tell Steve has major psychiatric issues, that is why he crapped on his band and his fans. And why these sad crazy women (that pretty much make up his whole fan base) won't leave the guy alone I will never know. I mean Perry doesn't want to record an album. At his age he probably gets up three times a night to pee. Plus he has aged really bad. Like someone said else where Steve did not age like a fine wine he aged like wine turned to vinegar.

I understand these creatures are very ugly and capable of creating a stench the tabloids would not dare to go near. Anyway, Mr. Bill, just wanted you to be aware in case one of these staggering beast crosses your path. Oh yea, most importantly, in case you encounter on of these uglies, look away. If they insist on standing before you, just look up at the sky and sing Steve Perry's song called"Go Away" they say that usually does the trick, but just in case all else fails and they continue to follow you like a lost puppy, throw a piece of fermented fruit over a steep cliff. I mean there's plenty of room, they have candles to light the way, I realize the smell is a bit musky but and they haven't had spirits there in years, but hey, there's a mission bell and a courtyard to dance in if I can only put up with all those pretty, pretty boys out there. But as the morning sun creeps across the room, you were only dreaming. So, once again, you get on the good foot to begin a new day, where once again questions begin to arise, but don't stop believing because someday, someway, we all find that time is the answer. I don't know about you but I must've got lost somewhere down the line while I was watching the dogs chase the wheel in the sky. I just got home from Illinois, lock the front door, Oh Boy! One should also try very hard not to confuse themselves with each other. I mean, if you don't know yourself, who does??? You should also be careful not to be to angry with yourself as you may wind up kicking your own butt. I know, it sounds like a lot of trouble getting to know yourself, but believe me, you'll thank yourself someday! On the other hand, don't think too much of yourself as that is very selfish and may create friction between you, yourself and you, and that you is not the you, you think it may be, but we'll discuss that later. Last but not least, Be Good To Yourself when nobody else will, and if, you should find yourself falling short of perfection, don't let it get you down, just grab a step ladder, give it all you got and if you fail, don't stop believing in yourself. I think Steve Perry should do his part to get us out of this recession and release an album - lots of people would buy it (which would stimulate the private sector, and generate sales tax revenue), people would feel good when listening to it (which would make people put a smile on their face, which would be good for business in general) and would also have a positive effect on people with good ideas by releasing endorphins and other hormones (which would very likely stimulate the entrepreneurial and/or innovative spirits in those people, which in turn would lead to new, better products which would sell like crazy, increase exports, and reduce the deficit), which would, consequently, improve our economy. Steve - AMERICA NEEDS YOU! :)

Dear Diary, Today as I listen to my Steve Perry collection, many questions come to mind. Steve said "Don't Stop Believing" and I didn't, so now what? Does Steve know I still cry for him? Steve also said "Somewhere There's Hope" I wonder why he couldn't cut me a break and simply give me directions? If nothing stands between love and me, could it be Steven Ray Perry is also the invisible man? If I could show Steve the letter my heart forgot to send, would it be legible? Hmm? Hey, I wonder if maybe he could come around after the show and we could go out and have a cup of coffee or something, huh?, huh? And last but not least, exactly what questions should I ask the lonely? If they were anything like me I don't think their answers could be of much assistance. Hi Mr Bill, I just want to say this is my way of telling you everything I could never say before... Whew, there, I said it now! That wasn't so difficult after all. Oh yes, that reminds me of the time someone very special to me said: "with age we begin lose certain things such as memory, eyesight, ect... and that in the case of a dancer, the hips are the first to go." The odd thing was, in my case, he was the first thing to go. And to think that age had not yet introduced itself. Oh well, I learned a lot from him and I thanked him. Moral of the story is, as painful as it may be, is that sometimes, we must let go of a good thing and um, um, well...Settle for less? No, I hardly think that's really what he meant, but, then again I haven't seen him since, so, I'm really not sure! I went to a Sad Cafe where we'd been once before hoping to see him again, but, could not remember what time we were to meet.. Realizing quickly I could not wait forever, as I knew eventually I could be picked up for loitering, I decided to move on and let go of "What Was" knowing that someday, someway, we may meet again and laugh about the whole thing! So now let's hear your story Bill...

How about this one, isn't it entirely possible that he is producing his very own stuff, and does not wish to have an agent??? I mean, the way musicians get ripped these days and don't forget about history, who is anyone to question what they are doing at all. In my view we would all be lucky if Steve Perry decides to come back at all after what he has already encountered...I do think it will happen, the when is entirely up to him!

Posted a note on the wallpaper of Randy Goodrum's facebook page asking if his comment in his bio on his webpage about working on new stuff for Steve Perry's next project could be amplified and explained. No response yet, though he has responded in May to other people's comments on other topics. Goodrum was the co-writer of 'Oh Sherrie' and other Street Talk album songs. Is a good sign, but that notation has been on his bio page for a couple months now. Says 'more later', but there hasn't been anymore, and Steve in the February interviews said he had nothing beyond the demo stage. SO....just don't get what is delaying him, unless it's the logistics of the ability to market it! But since the revamped 'Journey' released their album independently through Walmart, and since Sade released her first album in 10 years and it went to number 1 and she is over 60, a distributor HAS to know that there will be interest in buying Steve's project! Just wish someone would get it DONE! Indecision, and second guessing lead to paralysis and a self critique that can condemn one to just spinning in circles. He needs to set a deadline, self imposed or not, and pretend that like the old days he has a manager and the label breathing down his neck to give the project impetus and some wings!

Oh No Mr Bill, I was thinking about Steve Perry this morning when suddenly, there was a "Strange Magic" in the air. A gathering of angels appeared above my head, they sang to me this song of hope and this is what they said, they said: "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot" I said: "What???" Then they said: "Just Kidding, what we really came to say is that "Heaven Is A Place On Earth" so I asked them "How Far Is Heaven" "Anyway" They said: "So Far Away" So, I said: "O.K. then, If "Heaven's Just A Sin Away" then how does one calculate the miles of a sin?" The angel in charge said: "I say high, you say low, you say why, and I say I don't know." I said: "Oh No... You say goodbye and I say hello" And things just got weird after that...I found myself wanting to say "Abracadabra" I wanna reach out and grab ya by the left wing and pull you off that cloud, but instead, I said: "O.K, so we seem to be having some sort of "Communication Breakdown" here. Is there anyway I can speak with the man upstairs?" The angels told me that would be fine with them if I could afford to buying the "Stairway To Heaven." Oh well, it was then I realized I would have to sail across the sun and make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded and that heaven is over rated before returning to the atmosphere with drops of Jupiter in my hair, and need I say what a mess that was? Oh No! Mr. Bill, I do hope you're not hung up in traffic again! As we know the freeway can be a nightmare in rush hour...I was wondering if the "Freeway of Love" and "Expressway To Your Heart" look anything like Route 66??? I did hear that "Life In The Fast Lane" is a rough road to travel... But, If you take "The Long And Winding Road" and from there go "East Bound And Down" and then "Follow The Yellow Brick Road" all the way to the end, turn left and then go right at the first light "Down On The Corner" you should find the "Dark End Of The Street" where there's an "Old Man On The Corner" holding the detour sign which will guide you around the "Highway to Hell" and keep you safe in your travels. Whew! Now if I could just remember the name of that town that lies "Up Around The Bend" you might just get there by tomorrow. Oh well, buckle up and be safe!

Mr. Bill, It seems I am "Forever In Blue" and "It Could Have Been You" but for some reason, this "Troubled Child" is still "Happy To Give" cause "Once You Love Somebody," a "Chain Reaction" is bound to occur. This "Little Girl" while looking through "The Eyes Of A Woman" can clearly see "Who's Crying Now." "Still She Cries" when she hears that "Message Of Love," the "Girl Can't Help It" after finding that she "Can't Tame The Lion." I still recall a sad cafe that I visited some years ago, after leaving I found I was caught on a one way street and had to think quickly as "Precious Time" was about to run out on me, else, I could have ended up in the "Line Of Fire" and woke up in the "City Of The Angels." Although that may have not been such a bad thing at the time, I am so glad I decided to turn that big "Wheel In The Sky" and make my "Escape." As it turns out the "Only The Young" who were "Raised On Radio" "Don't Stop Believing" and "Faithfully" continue to search for the "Lights" to reveal the "Colors Of The Spirit" while know it's so "Easy to Fall" yet, they never forget once they've learned what's left "After The Fall..." Even though some of us go our "Separate Ways' and find ourselves worlds apart, we realize that "Open Arms" will find us someday. If you don't know what I am saying here, just "Ask The Lonely" I am sure they could explain it! Then again?

I wonder what happened to the "White Flag" I used to keep in my pocket??? Last time I saw it was the time someone asked me if I liked to go "Sailing." Afterwards I shall search for a fermented fruit tree and get my fill, they say there's a movie that never ends it goes on and on and on and on and I really don't want to miss it! But tonight "It's Only You And Me" so you can tell everybody this is "Your Song" as long as you promise your not just some "Killer Queen" bee looking for some "Tupelo Honey" to tide you over until your next dish arrives. Uh, Oh, Mr. Bill....I was just about to take a "Magic Carpet Ride" when all of the sudden this huge Iron Butterfly appeared from out of nowhere singing "In-A Gadda Da-vida," I thought about it for a moment and decided it might be a very painful encounter if I were to collide with one of those in mid air, so I decided to "Take A Walk On The Wild Side" to ensure I would "Get Back" to the "Green River" but just before I began walking, a "Magic Man" appeared before me saying "It's Too Late To Turn Back Now..." I said to him, "I Want You To Show Me The Way" and he said: "You're Gonna Have To Save Yourself This Time Darlin'" Now I don't know "Which Way Is Up" anymore. Oh, but, wait a minute... I do believe I see "Low Rider" "Up Around The Bend." Maybe I should be "Hitchin' A Ride" to the "City Of New Orleans" and from there I could go "Saling" until I see the "Lights" of "San Francisco" and I could be "Leaving On A Jet Plane" by Friday...Oh gee, I don't know where to begin, "Where Did Our Love Go" anyway? " Maybe it was Memphis?" For all I know I could have lost it when I was Leaving Las Vegas" or some place like that. All I remember is that I was "Walking In Memphis" once and saw the "Werewolves of London" "Dancing In The Street" "Downtown" as one of the was singing "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag..." "Baby, What A Big Surprise" That was! I asked one of them how to get to "Chicago" and I wound up in South Detroit instead. Go Figure...
Anyway "I Must've Got Lost" somewhere down the line. But I did meet some "Nashville Cat's" who asked me "Who Let The Doggs Out?" How was I supposed to know? So moving on...I found myself on "The Highway To Hell" when all of the sudden I was "Blinded By The Light" but "I Can See Clearly Now" so it's O.K. I just need to know "Where Do We Go From Here?" Oh No Mr. Bill, I just remembered "Saturday In The Park" is only a few days away, so I must be on my way to Chicago. The last time we did this, "someone left the cake out in the rain," and "I'll never have that recipe again, Oh Noooooo!" This time I should just buy a box of doughnuts I guess... "Heaven Knows," I can't take that again after it took so long to bake that cake in the first place. Checked out Randy Goodrum's site-the amazing Nashville Hall of Fame songwriter who has written for and with hundreds of artists, including co-writing 'Oh, Sherrie' with Steve. He says that he is currently working on new material for Steve's next project, then 'more about that later'. Hope that means that Steve's oblique references to writing new material, and hoping to record it in multiple interviews this year are true!!

I was just thinking that when the "Lights" go down in the city, Oooh, I want to be there, but, if he can't hear my "Message Of Love" how will he ever know that "Tonight's The Night"? I must admit, it does sound interesting, although I realize, instead of "My Favorite Mistake" it could wind up being my "The Worst That Could Happen" to me. "Believe Me" when I tell you, being e-stalked, tracked and monitored is nothing like a lovely stroll "Under The Boardwalk" which reminds me of another little story of mine. When I was a "Young Girl" and thought I had "Too Much Time On My Hands" I discovered that "Love Is Like A Hurricane" First you see a "Bad Moon Risin" as the powerful storm rushes in and BAM!!! Next thing you know it's "Thunder And Lightening" I tell you it's frightening, especially when a gathering of angels appeared above my head and sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said, They said: "Come Sail Away", Come Sail Away, Come and Sail Away With Me...I thought they must be mad, I mean first of all, I didn't believe in angels that much, and second, who in their right mind would go sailing in that crap??? Anyway, I trusted the angels and as the story goes we searched for tomorrow on every shore, and I still try as best as I can to carry on. I was all alone one day when it hit me," What About Love?" and "What's Love Got To Do With It?" Well, at least now, "I know the reason, love has a season" I even questioned it myself at first, but then, "I Saw The Light' in his eyes...Wow! I mean, once I had love and it was a gas, he was some "Heart Breaker" When he left he said: "You Should Be Happy" so even though I still cry for him, I must do my best to keep a smile on my face, but don't let my glad expression give you the wrong impression. The "Tears Of A Clown" when no one's around make it difficult to keep my cereal from getting soggy. So much for that story! Interesting that my friends seem to think I'm "Crazy" for feeling so lonely, but, I say it's just a "Natural Thing." "Love Will Lead You Back" If only you believe in "Miracles." So Turn Around Bright Eyes! Once you've seen a "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" You'll begin to learn that "Everything Is Beautiful" in it's own way...If I could only find my hurricane once again I'd say: "Give me your heart, make it real, or else forget about it!" While, it may be true Mr. Bill that "What doesn't kill you, will only make you stronger" I never invite danger to my doorstep! This is a crazy world we live in today, but, "Don't Let It Get you Down" "Ya Gotta Have Faith" in who you are..which begs the question "Who Are You" I really wanna know! Oh well, I still don't see how to get there from here, but, try to "Keep On Smiling" "Anyway" Someday, "Love Will Find A Way" and when it does "Magnet And Steel" have quite an impact on one another. So forget about "Tainted Love" and all that stuff, because "Ain't Nothin' Like The Real Thing" and love is...Never having to say I'm "Sorry" you're blue. Long ago, in a far away land, A friends and I along with another friend were driving along when we somehow got caught on a one way street, still we tried to see, I still don't know how our love could be so so blind...But, "Anyway" all of the sudden Sluggo showed up and everyone split quickly! (That great big hammer seems to have that effect on people) , know what I mean? It just didn't make sense, everything before that moment Sluggo arrived had been like living some beautiful dream, from which I never wanted to be awakened. Although, we knew our love could not partake, we were still making plans that Sluggo destroyed entirely! Leave it to Sluggo to smash the dreams of the innocent ones. Seriously though, We touched and went our "Separate Ways" as I lived with the nightmare of Sluggo showing up and stalking me every time I tried to begin my life again. I haven't seen Sluggo in years! To be honest, I think he must have met up with Mr. Clubbo and taken on a secret identity. I hope Clubbo can make a new man out of him! Anyway, Our "Summer Of Love" was completely destroyed by a man with a hammer and I have yet to rebuild...Kind of sad that I never saw my friend again either. They hit the road, and for all I know, "Still They Ride" Funny thing though, it's almost like he never left, I still feel his presence wherever I go. So anyway my point is, "Don't Stop Believing" just because you can't see something, If you feel it, then I am certain it must be real! It is possible that two, can become one in spirit. That's "The Power Of Love" as Huey Lewis would say...Oh yea, just remember, If you don't get it, then forget it, I've Had My Share Of Life's Ups And Downs and I realize that some things, just aren't meant to be... The last thing on earth I want to do is to "go on together living a lie" just because "Neither One of Us Wants To Be The First To Say Goodbye," Gladys Knight sang that so beautifully, don't you think? Oh, BTW "I Got A brand New Pair Of Roller Skates" that I can't use now, it seems I lost the "Brand New Key" on that dreadful day Sluggo showed up to smash me. Oh well, Melanie doesn't sing much anymore so I guess the skates may have been a bad idea anyway...Who knows and does it matter anyway??? Hmmm... Oh no, Mr. Bill it seems I have to run now, you see there's this guy, and I heard he sang a good song, I heard he had a style, so now I should go listen. Maybe, Roberta Flack knew that it was better to have someone "Killing Me Softly With His Song" than to let Sluggo kill me with a hammer over and over. LOL I hope you enjoyed my sad story, but please remember...Everybody's got at least one good one! Maybe someday I can sing you a story about "Living In Two Different Worlds." I think that's already been done too! I could go on forever but I won't, I will just say this, ouch! Not to worry, it's just that well, sometimes, l feel as though I am Still being smashed by that stupid hammer. I guess some memories are forever!

I saw a photo of him taken at the airport a couple of weeks ago and he looks soooooooo great! His hair is long again and he has lost a lot of weight.
The guy on facebook said he was so nice! I wish I could meet him someday...

It will get you off your pity pot and have you hearing your very own theme song in your head as you put on a smile and walk out the door realizing everyone feels beaten at one time or another, it's how you treat yourself as a result of the torture that determines ones true character!
That is when your True Colors as some would say, begin to shine through, you have to determine which colors are truly appealing. If you search for happiness, the small pleasures in life are great! Some are too small to see until you stay focused long enough for them to grow into something more beautiful than you could ever dream. I do hope we hear something new this year. Even if we do not get a new CD, it will never change my opinion of Steve Perry. Joe, how do you know, factually, that the talk of a new album came from Steve Perry himself? Everyone knows that rumors can start anywhere at any time. If he comes out with a new album, Great for everybody! If not then crap happens and we hold on to the great material he has gracoiusly shared with us.So, stop saying that he is jerking around. Remember, you are not walking in his shoes, and dont really know what his plans are.

There was also an interview he did for Scotland last week, where he said he is very excited about the new songs he has written and is thinking about recording them. He is simply undecided...Joe, Blow your smoke somewhere else!!! The mirrors are only what you perceive. It is very possible he just may do that, after all, how many of the greats disappear from public view only to resurface in their later years? Most of them do! Steve Perry was much more than a one hit wonder as we all know, not to mention full of surprises! The interview was great! It was so nice hearing his voice again and he sounds great...I am so happy to know he is well. As for now there are no hints of when and if he may do something new, Only that he thinks about it! As for now he has not been in any studio doing any recording. If you read what I wrote on the other post, you will see that I didn't say I got the virus there, I was simply saying there are many forums you should be wary of as one of the other girls had said that link is where her trouble began...You may want to read carefully what I did post. Some of those forums, when neglected for a time do become places where hackers step in and take over to harass the unsuspecting, I simply warned for people to be careful. If you do not have the proper protection on you computer you may be asking for trouble, that's all. Just saying!
Anyway, again, no need to take it personal Blue, I was just offering a few words of caution. Crap happens when you least expect it. You are very lucky if it has never happened to you. I've taken a few hits like that in my time, so when I noticed the last post about Steve Perry was august of last year I decided just to continue the waiting game until I see something more promising. I'm a follower in that account and have been for some time and my computer has not been sabataged nor has my identity been stolen! I think this account was set up by SP or his reps to get a consolidated tally of all those who might purchase his new CD if he were to release one. This account may very well be authentic because the news last year was about his new CD and, just maybe, because the twitter account has a very low following, that is the reason there is no 2010 news of this release. So I'm just suggesting that people join this account, then maybe there will be news of a CD release late Spring or Summer. I understand fears of identity theft, you can always use a fake name on the internet. And Lovesmo, you said in the other forum your computer got a virus from a different Perry101 Easter Family link.

Do not sign up to follow him on that sight as one girl posted she had to spend quite a bit of money to cleaning up after that mistake. I have been a journey fan since I was about seven when i wandered off a bit past where mydad said i could go. you see he was an accomplished gladiolous hibridizer and was judging the annual sacramento show held at the garden and arts building right down from , i believe it was the sac. memorial auditorium . Being from a christian family full of preachers & gospel singers , it would be a few more years till i was allowed to have a rock and roll record , but when that time came i asked if it could be the song lights instead of a fine elvis presley record some how to my dismay i ended up with the pablo cruise record aplace in the sun . because some of the guitar parts sounded like that "Acid rock " . but on my next birthday I was given evolution & soon after learned every track by heart vocals as well as drums My thanks to journey : For an early lesson in what a good rythym and blues song should be like . for teaching me to sing from deep within my dyaphram as well as from my heart and soul to anyone lending an ear or needing a song. i ONCE HAD THE RARE OPPORTUNITY TO THANK STEVE PERRY IN PERSON AT A SMALL RESTRAUNT ABOVE KAWHEA RESERVOIR AS HE WALKED IN WHILE i WAS HAVING A BIRTHDAY MEAL WITH MY BROTHERS FAMILY . I have been a Perry fan from the beginning, and certainly wish if Steve is going to release a new CD he would give his fans a little Christmas Present.....HINT ! It would be something to look forward to.
I have had the pleasure of seeing Steve perform with Journey twice, and would not have missed it for anything. These days, we can watch so much on youtube and even buy a few DVDs but we would LOVE a new CD, DVD or anything Steve wishes to do.
I have always admired him for many things including his love for his mother who passed before the Raised on Radio Album and tour. Steve had to deal with a lot of grief, and I know how that feels. Sometimes it takes a long time to come to grips with something so tragic.
I wish Steve would check these boards and know how many fans he still has. Of course I am sure he has plenty to keep him busy, but if he really IS going to do something, OR decided not to do anything, it would be nice to set his fans straight.
If he announced today that he was going to release a CD, I would have my order in for it tomorrow. I would not care what was on it as long as it had his voice.

All I know is steve came out and told his fans that the Hawaii concerts were false and he would do the same about anything else. Awhile ago in a Vegas paper it said steve perry was to release his new album in feb,2010. Somethings coming because artist have confirmed that they are working with perry on a album! Perry also said in a interview that he would like to sing with sada and her album is coming out in feb 2010. Maybe hes will be on some of her tracks I guess we will just have to wait and see but I know somethings going down, going down!!!

Ziggy, agree that Steve wouldn't post it on Wikipedia-so far he has only used Fan Asylum or in person interviews with legitimate, verifiable news sources. Was just hoping that the Wikipedia post had come from someone who had encountered a legitimate Sony press release. But, apparently, was another hoax or 'whisper down the lane' type rumor-like the May, 2009 alleged concert in Hawaii that he had to go on Fan Asylum and refute. He didn't do his usual holiday greeting on Fan Asylum this year. Hope that January 2010 he will post his message, and maybe, PLEASE, either confirm that the music he personally said he is recording will actually be released OR, say once and for all that he has no plans for the album so we'll all be able to rest easy! Major confusion about the new album as of 11/23/09 in my book. Wikipedia had a post last week that he had signed with Sony for a release on Columbia Music with music videos-tour to be determined. But as of 11/23, the post had been removed from Wikipedia saying that Sony said no one had confirmed any thing of the sort.
Can someone PLEASE give valid confirmation about whether he is really releasing an album? HE said in the CBC.CA inteview in July that he was recording-but recording isn't the same as actually being able to release or promote an album! Driving me crazy because I would dearly love to hear some new music, any music from the maestro!

Now, many, and I do mean many, years later, I still listen to his beautiful voice every day. There is an album(cd) for every mood I am in. My favorite is Infinity, wait, Evolution, wait again, Departure, no maybe Escape, oh, what about Frontiers, ugh.. maybe I should mention ROR, but today I listened to Trial By Fire, uh oh, yesterday it was Street Talk and FTLOSM, oh I give up, I LOVE THEM ALL!!! I need to download new Steve Perry music now!! I never did see him live either, (one of the biggest regrets of my life as I had the chance twice but passed them up) this would be a dream come true to me. My 2 older sons already told me that they are coming with me if he tours (they are 20 and 18) and my 7 and 9 yr old sons love watching videos of Steve on Youtube with me. My 13 yr old son plays drums and learned many of my favorite Journey songs for me. Had the opportunity to get tickets to see Journey this summer for my birthday and said, "sorry, Journey doesn't exsist anymore without Steve up front." The nerve, they are just a cover of themselves without the one who made them great. Come on Steve, we need you back now!!! We have all been waiting a real long time. Steve's album is coming out in 2010 I think around Feb. It was in a vegas paper, and also on a board where they have the dates of new albums being releases. To whoever said Perry last album with Journey was missing something! Go back and listen to trial by fire and you will find this a very emotional,beautiful,album. everything on this album is written from the soul of perry and written about love and loss within his 8 year absents from journey. When you love a woman is breathtaking. Perry,Caine,and Neal did a fantastic job on the album. By the way Caine! when you lie and say that Perry did not want to tour Europe in the middle 80's and say you dont know why! I'll tell you what you already knew. Steve' "friends" bailed on him when he was at a very low point physically and began looking for another singer BEFORE even talking with him about it. I hope they do well with Arnel he seems like a nice guy but Journey will never be what it was with Steve Perry. I only hope he DOES come back as a solo act as I feel that is what he should have been all along!

After the Oprah show, Steve showed his class by wishing the band well. I do hope he releases another album that is, if that's what he wants to do. If he's enjoying his retirement, so be it, but I would love to hear that beautiful voice once again.

The way I see this, 1. Steve Perry has the best voice of all times. 2. if you dont like him, go find something else to do then sit here and put him down. try a long walk off a short cliff. 3. If Steve puts out a new album there are millions of devoted fans that will be extremely happy, encluding myself.

Aren't you a little tired of being dissapointed year after year? Finally comes back in 1996 and fakes a hip surgery to get out of touring? Can't get along with anyone, never married and dissapears for 15 years. I would be thrilled if he put out a new album, but do you really think that is going to happen. He's going to jerk us around for another 10 years and then it will be too late. Sorry if the truth bothers you guys. Nothing would make me more happy than to eat my words but I really doubt I will.

Steve still has his faithful following in his corner. We have been waiting for a long time for this. There are many bands from that era that have come back and started making music again. Circus life under THE BIG TOP WORLD we all need "the clowns" to make us smile. I lost my sister/my friend to cancer, she suffered a very slow and painful death and there wasn't anything I could do to make her better, we buried her on her 31st birthday. Two months later I lost my Aunt who was more like a sister, we were almost the same age, her untimely death was due to drug and alcohol abuse. The three of us were very close and had many misadventures. Steve you were right there in the middle in song. We of course all had a serious crush on you, I still do. We sang all of your songs together our favorite to sing as a trio was "Lights." We sang it accapella in the stairwell of my garage apartment because the acoustics were perfect. Thank you for being a part of some very precious memories. I'm just now at the point where I can here your voice without breaking down. For a long while I avoided you, but now especially since I'm clean and sober I can truly appreciate your work as if each song is a masterpiece painting in my personal gallery in my heart. I'm forever your's, faithfully.

I too have been a Steve Perry fan for 30 yrs. I doubt that there is a new recording coming though. If he intended to record he would have done so long before now. Seems someone claims to know for a fact that Steve is working on a new album year after year after year. I will continue to listen to the old stuff and believe a new on when I see it.

Leah, Forget the white sox video, I am a true fan of football and all I do at games is scream and I am lucky I can talk after a game. I am so sure that perry was goofing more then putting his heart and soul into it. Drinking some beers,screaming and just getting over being sick will make even the best singer sound hoarse. In a March interview of this year Steve Perry said he is happy with the new songs he has written and people are telling him hes ready to go and hes sounding great. He said himself while he sings he feels sad at times because he sounds like the perry with journey and it pains him with memories. Randy Jackson seen Perry about 3 months ago and said his voice is still golden. So friend put your worries to rest our steve is back!!!

Just saw a video of him singing with the White Sox after the World Series win (Don't Stop Believin'). While that was a couple years ago, someone reassure me that it was just because he had gone hoarse from either cheering or an upper respiratory infection-because in that video (shot by someone who wanted to mock him-which made me furious), he was hoarse, off key, and truly sounded like only a shadow of himself. Anyone have any information on whether he has been heard, or recorded, singing since that World Series event?
The thought of 'the Voice' being gone is heartbreaking! Please let it have been a fluke...

November or December of 2009, and if not, it will be beginning of 2010. Just please be patient a little while longer. Steve loves his fans and he would never let them down. And the Best Of SP, the pix on that GREEN CD were absolutely beautiful. You have to have faith, believe! It could have been nothing you know, he could have just forgot about everyone. I spoke to you on Rockline in 1994 on the evening upon Strange Medicines release and you said you were going to Time Square to buy the first copy of your own album. I recorded that show and told you my band was working on some Journey covers. I have to say man that summer I fell into some deep trouble with drugs, alcohol and the law but seriously your album pulled me through as your music has all these years. I'm now a fairly successful musician and song writer and always give you props for helping me to my dreams.
Release the album Steve! In this age of American Idol and poseur Steve Perry's running Journey it needs to be done! Your album will go platinum, we need you and love you.

Yes, I sadly agree that his voice is shot, otherwise he'd be recording more often and doing solo shows. He's smart not to go out there and embarrass himself live. But hey, "Don't Stop Believin'" found a resurgence, so the royalties he's getting are astronomical. Why work? At 60, I don't see a new album at this point. He's been out of Journey for 11 years now. Nothing in the interim aside from some studio backup work and one song ("I stand alone"). C'mon. But his legacy from '78-86 is undeniable! They still rock with Arnel, but it was silly to re-record the classics....just stick with the new stuff, Neal!

New album my ***. I've been hearing this rumor for over a year now and still there is no album. I'll believe Perry's back when I'm holding the new cd(album) in my hands.
