Judas Priest - A Touch Of Evil - Live

Yeah - and I'm - hrmf - probably E V E N a L I T T L E bit older so I even saw Rainbow, Saxon, Lizzy, Whitesanke, Ozzy, Maiden, Kiss etc back in the heydays as well. But I'm not sure where you are from Ghost? The US? The problem up here in Sweden was that we never got a visit from AOR-legends like Journey, Foreigner, Loverboys etc back then. (these days we have visits from them where they always have another frontman) The closest we got was Toto. I would loved to have seen a gig with Journey from the late 70's or early 80's. Well - even the Raised On Radio - tour would have been awesome... Anyway - the comment wasn't about that... It's about this album. I think this livealbum with Judas Priest is very cool as you probably also think? I think a half star is for the "nostalgic reason" and another half star is for the tracklisting. It's really cool when an old band like Judas still got the hunger to do this sort of livealbum instead of just another best of live.

I think this CD is very good. Not as good that Pär thinks it is though. Brad sits on a good voice, but what I love most is the production from Matt Wallace. It's fantastic. I can also mention that you can buy this CD cheap at Ebay and Amazon. I bought my copy at Ebay a while back for less than a dollar :) Three and a half star if you ask me.

Great review Kaj, you're spot on. I can hear elements of Honeymoon Suite and Everest in their sound but a whole lot crunchier and not in the least bit dated. RTLR rock! As for those harmonies....wow, Brave New World and End Of The States just blew me away.

Excuse me Ola, I'm sure you've reviewed countless albums and received numerous kudos. Your review on King's X 'XV' is not only shallow but you seem to only focus on 2 songs. Did you really listen to the whole CD? I've been following this band since the beginning. Their newest CD is both one of the greatest releases by the artist but also a crime that it hasn't gotten the airplay it deserves. Critics like yourself should know that when it comes to artists not getting their fair share from the labels, that you are the front line defending their art. Have you seen them live?

ooh that takes me back, I was fortunate enough to catch live performances by Def Leppard, Saga, McAuley-Schenker group and Loverboy back in 1988 and what a rush that was. I,v always wanted to see Judas Priest live, they were so emphatic and grand in the 80s...

Hi again Par, I appriciate solid songwriting and production no doubt about that, but this is just too familiar. I believe its just not enough signature, both in voice and songwriting, lets face it, he's no John Lennon or Cat Stevens you know? I'v had some time to digest this record, though I must admit I was a little bit more into it the first time I playd it. I agree of course with what you said about various taste and opinion, because without it, there would simply be no dynamic, no fun or no joy in music sites like your own. Then again it is always gratifying to experiance that you have something in commond with other music enthusiasts:-)

hey ghost - i've alway been a jerk for these sort of modern "singer songwriters". Especially when they have this sort of a modern rock approach to it. And the songwriting and production is awesome. I just love it. But hey - it's great with various taste and opinions :-)

I'v had this cd in my collection for some time now, and compared to a lot of simular stuff out there this is a deasent record, but the reviewer went a little overboard I think...
