Can you imagine the day when Howard Benson will produce five new young guys around 20 years old doing the same type of songs that you heard back on the first Harem Scarem-album. Imagine "With A Little Love" in a modern rock costume signed Howard Benson the year 2009. And of course released on Warner :-)

Its hard to believe that its been 20 years since "St. Christophers medal" "alcace Lorraine" and "back to the bullet", and even harder to believe that Saraya didnt make it higher on the billboard chart than #79 with that record. Yea, that is what I'm talking about, I really got that 80s wibe from Halestorm. I would really like to see more of todays artists take on the classics from the late 80s, like Red did with "ordinary life", Seether did with "careless whisper" or Quietdrive amongst others did with "time after time". There are so many great songs to choose from, specially songs that never were hits in the first place. If you put Howard Benson behind the boards they would surely be in safe hands.

Hardline - Leaving the end open

When rating this as a Ramos/Joey Gioeli solo album its a good effort. An easy 3,5 stars.
Rating this as Hardline is ridiculous. Has nothing to do with the classic first Hardline album. Then i would have to rate it as 0,5 stars.
For me Hardline are Dean Castronovo,Neil Schon and the Gioeli's guitarist brother.
This doesnot come even close to the sensational debut. Which was melodic rock at its finest.

This band is heavily influenced by the 80's for sure... I could have written that. All the tunes could have been on any album from the late 80's... When I write about the other bands I compare with the intensity in the production and I believe that this band sit on the same fat sound as the one I mentioned. I'm happy you write your ideas of similar artists, cause you sure are right about them as well. Darby Mills or Saraya the year 2009... That's something :-)

"Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" has become more than a "minor hit" over here, it's been in the top 10 of the modern rock chart for a few months now.

There is no way you can compare Halestorm to bands like Trapt, Shinedown or Staind. This record is more related to the 80s and 90s girlacts like Vixen, Witness, Lee Aaron or Chrissy Steele. If I were to compare it to some of their contemporary piers I'd rather say Paramore, Damone or In This Moment. The male fronted bands that probably comes closest soundwise is The Veer Union, Daughtry, Jet Black Stare, Mercy Fall, Endeverafter, Edgewater etc..
