Perhaps I'm swearing in the church now, perhaps I am the only one who thinks that Enuff Z Nuff sometimes is a very overestimated band. It's a band that has made some brilliant music in the past but also a lot of crap if you ask me. Oups sorry for that... Anyway - here is their new album "Dissonance" and guess what... I'm happy with it. There are some great moments on this CD that first was a limited CD for their tour last summer in the US. Moments where Donnie and Chip and his guys deliver a perfect hybrid between powerpop, sleaze, AOR and hardrock. But as always with this band they also have their downs on an album. And it is a shame. But let's concentrate on the good stuff because they're much more this time. Take a listen to "Fine Line" for example... It's a lovely piece directly taken from the Beatles book of notes and baked into a cake of the 2000 century. It's the same with "Rollaway" - a song that also is a perfect hybrid between Beatles, Cheap Trick and the guys earlier stuff. And there are more songs on this album that are sitting at the same standard, so it's fun for me to write that this is the best piece of plastic that I have heard with the guys since the late 1980's. ***1/2 stars

Check out the B-sides to the album as well, if you can find them. The song "You and Me" is a smash hit, in my mind. Such a beautiful song...
