While I admire the opinions of Andyman perhaps the most of all of these review as he provides solid evidence to back up his claims, I must respectfully disagree as I note that Embassy/Mayday has something that most musicians and bands have lost these days. Meaning. In a world of songs which are just meant to rock out to the lyrics are very solid and each song has a theme. In fact they do something akin to what the popular band Train does, but perhaps better.
The lyrics on their own, if taken line by line often seem slightly nonsensical, yet when reviewed together with the entire song paint a beautiful picture. In the case of White, this picture is redemption through another, not even necessarily romantically. Gravity on the other hand, possesses fewer lyrics but uses them effectively to convey the theme of faith
"Theres comfortable illusion,
To hide reality,
And shame for those who believe,
In things they cannot see."
Though it could be applied to religious faith, it has a much broader meaning of believing in something bigger than oneself.
Those are but examples taken from the two most popular songs. I believe that this band has a lot of artistic value. Sadly in today's music industry, artistic value seldom translates to monetary value and all we get is a stream of cliched pop songs that, although fun to rock out to, have little to no artistry involved in them. I personally have nothing but admiration for Embassy/Mayday for the bold and different music they are opting to produce. Way to go guys, way to go

I could not stop listening to this record. Tasty shredding. Great vocals. Fun songs. Perfect production, yes perfect. I compare this album to Steve Steven's Atomic Playboys, Masi's first, Giant, and, of course, Danger Danger. Please give me more!

i dont like this. all she does is slow piano songs now and its not fun. even call me up isnt fun like the demo was because it sounds boring. i loved her first album, this one the songs all sound the same.
