A recent discovery from Australia is what we?re dealing with next here at THE MELODIC NET. A band that has been out gigging with tons of cool bands in the past, and the most popular of them are Hoobastank. And that is quite near where Tapered Edges parked their car musically. The EP stars out with ?Forever Is Something New? which is a cool and solid rocker with a very nice guitargroove driving the song forward. Second out ?Drift Away? is the hit with a lovely refrain that reminds me a little about Goo Goo Dolls mixed with hold your horses now? Harem Scarem. Really good refrain that I?m sure all of you melodic rockers out the will enjoy a lot. Third out ?Illusions? takes down the bpm a bit and is also quite near Goo Goo Dolls in the sound. Good tune without getting the highest grades? Fourth out, the Hoobastank smelling ?Wanted? is a solid piece of work and feels like a solid album track without that extra nerve that makes it a hit on the radio. Last one out ?Overcome? is another fave with a great groove that you need to play on a high volume. And a song I?m sure all you modern rockers will love. So, we?re kind as usual here at The Melodic Net and deliver new bands you have to discover, and deliver Tapered Edges. I?m sure we will hear much more from this 5 piece band in the future. They sure have a lot of talent for that.

Before forming Fightstar, singer Charlie Simpson was in a band called Busted, who were a British pop band consisting of James Bourne (rhythm guitar), Charlie Simpson (lead guitar and occasionally drums), and Matt Willis (bass). They sold over 1 million singles and 2 million albums in the UK, winning BRIT Awards, Record Of The Year and performing on several sellout arena tours.
