Hot off the raging success of Stimulator (Lab/Universal), Snake River Conspiracy (Reprise), and T-Ride (Hollywood Records), solo artist/ guitarist/ producer/ entrepreneur Geoff Tyson is hovering dangerously close to infamy with his new album, Slow Mad Descent.

This album is an eclectic, sometimes crazed sonic journey, written, recorded and produced by Tyson himself in his Los Angeles studio. He plays most of the instruments on the album. Tyson describes it as "Prince meets Pink Floyd. It has a good feeling. Its guitar-driven rock you can listen to while youre shagging."

This album is a very good listen. Its got all the elements of pure rock and roll. One minute itll be at that country rock sound then move into the driving metal rock riffs. Tysons voice is a great addition to the album. Very David Gilmour and Pink Floyd sounding on "RiverBleue" which is my favorite on the album. the guitar line is so Gilmour style, its pretty sweet.

If your not so sure you can check out 3 songs from the album on Tyson Myspace page. You will sure find out that all all 3 of these songs are truly different as with the entire album. I like that in an album where it changes up and the songs all sound different. It breaks up the albums from sounding too monotonous.

The instrumentation on the album is very fine. You can tell this is Tysons very own work and how he wanted it. A fine listen if you want some great straight up "Rock n Roll." Lookout for Geoff Tyson traveling all around Eastern Europe in the next few months to promote the album with a release on September 31st, 2007 in most European countries, followed by India and China in October, South America in November, Japan in December, and will finally be unleashed in the United States by early 2008. It is also available on I-Tunes all over the world. Check it out.

Anberlin band member Stephen Christian has offered the explanations that he planned naming his first daughter Anberlin and that the name was a modification of the phrase "and Berlin" from a list of cities Christian wanted to visit. The one story that Christian asserts is true, however, is that he heard the word in the background noise of the Radiohead song "Everything in Its Right Place".
