After the stunning release of the regular edition of Comatose comes an even more invigorating Deluxe Version of the album with acoustic tracks and a loaded DVD. As you know from our previous review the Skillet album is pretty awesome. Smashing guitar tones, crushing production, and killer hooks that will have you singing through emotion song after song. Thats what Comatose is all about. Releasing on December 26, 2007, The Deluxe Edition includes New Cover art, Comatose CD, 5 Acoustic tracks: Yours To Hold, The Older I Get, Rebirthing, Whispers In The Dark, and Say Goodbye, 1 New Studio Track: Live Free Or Let Me Die, Making Of The Record DVD, 3 Videos: Rebirthing, Whispers In The Dark, Looking For Angels, FREE Wallpaper, and a FREE Ringtone. What else can you ask for?

The new track on the album Live Free Or Let Me Die, offers the definite sound of the band ranging with the eerie guitar line kicking into an enormous heavy sound with the melodic and catchy choruses the band is widely known for. The acoustic tracks are a delightful addition to the album because it shows the delicate sound of the band. On the album you hear the emotion from Cooper but with the loud guitars and heavy production behind it. These songs are the album songs stripped down but still with that eager emotion and determination. Very cool piano, acoustics, and violins bringing in the flavors for the all around sound. This is a great side of the group for the fans of the not so heavy side of the group. The tracks are all my favorites from the album, Yours to Hold, The Older I Get and Say Goodbye. Rebirthing acoustic is a killer rendition of the song instead of kicking into that huge heavy sound its accompanied by the lush acoustic guitars and piano.

The Making of the record is a great feature more band should incorporate into the albums. Offering 3 music videos and the documentary on the album is a pure delight for any Skillet fan. Its always nice to see the bands videos included on the DVD and especially ones that comes with the album, so you get 2 for the price of 1 and all the music you can handle. You can go wrong giving your fans the best that they deserve for supporting them through the years and Skillet does it best with this Deluxe Edition of Comatose.

-The original CD was such a let down after Collide came out, where's the hard riffs? Live free or let me die is a pretty good come back though and makes this cd worth it, but again still not as good as Collide was.

It is said that "Hopes and Fears" and "Under The Iron Sea" were recorded without using any guitars. It is purely drums, keyboards, piano, vocals and a little bit of technical sounds and effects.
