Reviewed by: Kaj Roth Add to MySpace Add to Facebook Finally, the first full length album in 6 years from Maryland based progressive hard rock band Orphan Project is here. We got a little taste of what these guys have been up to last year with the really great 4 track EP "II", 3 songs off that EP are also included on the brand new album "Spooning out the sea". I think the band has taken a slightly heavier direction with these new songs but they haven't lost their delicate sense for progressive rock, some of the new songs are in fact the best stuff this band has written so far. Just listen to the opening track "Reach" with a wonderful hi-tech vibe to it, excellent song structure. "The battle rages on" features a fantastic riff and the keyboard parts leaves me with nothing more to wish for, "Head on your platter" might be their heaviest track so far and the chorus is huge! The title track ends the album in a majestic way, truly an epic song that gives the listener a feeling of -Now I need to hear this album all over again! Bravissimo!
