Behind W.E.T. you will find two of the Swedish best AOR/MHR songwriters right now named Robert Sall (Work Of Art), Erik Martensson (Eclipse) and they have joined heads with first class singer Jeff Scott Soto that don’t need any bigger introduction. So W.E.T. stands for Work Of Art, Eclipse and Talisman. This is an absolutely brilliant AOR/MHR album and if you take the best parts from the mentioned bands then you got W.E.T. You can also throw in some Journey influences and that may not be so strange because of Jeff’s short time in that classic AOR-band. This is an album that has it all from a top-notch production to outstanding memorable songs with brilliant choruses that hooks you up right away. You don’t have to play this album a couple of time before you're into it, no I was already hooked earlier this year when I heard One Love. I will come to that song later.

The album opens up with Invincible that opens up with heavy riffs but turns into a wet dream for lovers of melodic AOR. The chorus is huge with lovely keyboards and the choirs are powerful, what a start of the album. One Love is next and this is pure magic and it sounds like The Rasmus goes AOR and meets Talisman and Eclipse on a dead end street. The chorus is nothing but pure magic and Jeff sings his heart out and I haven’t heard him this hungry for sometime.

The ballad Come Down Like Rain is stunning and the 2nd chorus lifts up this song even more with impressive harmony vocals. Running From The Heartache has some Giant vibes in it with great riffs, strong melodies and a chorus that knocks you down. I’ll Be There rocks big time with cool arrangements and the sounds is nothing but sensational. Damage Is Done sounds like a Talisman song. Another personal favourite song is Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is. This is an awesome up-tempo rocker with American party feel over it and pounding drums with a sing-a-long chorus that will sound huge live.

Just Go is a great rocker in the best Eclipse style. The album ends with two songs that made me think of Journey and maybe it would have sounded like this if Jeff have had the chance to do an album with them. The songs I’m talking about are My Everything, an awesome up-tempo rocker and the ballad If I Fall are two magical songs. W.E.T. has done of the better albums of this year if not the best because this has it all that we melodic freaks want. This is an album I recommend highly and you won’t get much better AOR/MHR albums that this. Thanks guys for making this absolutely brilliant album that will warm up the winter cold.

My rating:
-I totally agree to this review, this album is just amazing!! Very high quality on this album as a whole and I can't remember the last time I've heard such great record like this! The best songs on the album in my opinion are One Love, Brothers in Arms, Running from the Heartache and One day at a time. This is already a classical record! Buy it right now!!

Before they were known as Journey with Steve Perry, the band was called Golden Gate Rhythm Section.
